UEFA Champions League Draw Confirmed: Real Madrid With Tough Group, Manchester United Lucky

The draw of the UEFA Champions League group stages took place in Monaco this evening, and Real Madrid have been drawn into a tough draw, while Manchester United received an easy group.

The defending champions will again be the side to beat in this year's competition after Los Blancos became the first team to lift back-to-back UCL titles last season.

Zinedine Zidane's side have been drawn against in the toughest group alongside Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and Apoel.

South Africa is likely to have two representatives in the competition: Dino Ndlovu scored the goal that secured FK Qarabag's entry into the group stages, while Rivaldo Coetzee, pending a medical and contract signature, will take part with Scottish giants Celtic.

Ndlovu's side received a tough draw, facing Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and AS Roma, while Coetzee's likely new club Celtic will face Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Anderlecht.

Here are the eight groups in full:

Jose Mourinho blamed Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United loss in the UEFA Super Cup game. The self-acclaimed Special One claimed Manchester United could have won if not Ronaldo that got the attention of the referee on any slight tackle. Real Madrid won the game with a 2-1 score line, Casemiro and Isco gave Los Blancos the lead before Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for the Red Devils. Mourinho was of the opinion that all hopes were lost when Ronaldo came off the bench, while he criticised the decision to award Casemiro’s first goal claiming it was offside. ‘I think they could score more goals than they did, and we could score more goals than we did. ‘I think they had a period of dominance in the middle of the first half. We had a period of dominance in the middle of second half, and the rest was balanced. ‘We were playing against a team full of fantastic players, but we discussed the result until almost the end. ‘Then Cristiano came on and the referee wante
